User name colors
« on: May 20, 2013, 07:13:51 PM »
The old post about how user names appear in colors seems out of date.  I was just wondering how it works now?  My name turned yellow at 1000 posts, yet I see that at 2000 the color changes back to light blue just as it started.  This is not a complaint, I just thought it strange the color reverts back.  I see moderators have red and dark blue.  Is there a difference or meaning there?

Of course not my dear, I just think you should get your own special color for passing 2000....or at least stay yellow.  You and I seem to be burning though the numbers with posts.  I have no clue how that is happening?

I think they're all blue in the posts, but have the relevant colours based on number of posts in the recap at the bottom of the main screen.

Of course LE but at 2000 posts, the color (sorry you bloody Englishman....colour) at the bottom of the screen goes back to the pale blue?  Something we can both look forward to.....not that I give a damn....just rather strange.

....just rather strange.

Isn't that the entire site when compared to more "normal" places?

The usernames are all blue in the posts because it's a hyperlink to the profile page.

I've had a look at the various user groups and for some reason only "Graduate" has a colour (correct spelling is required to play cricket :P ) code (#FFD700) I don't know if there a technical reason for it. I've looked back to around 2008 and can't see anything that might indicate it.

Unless the other Deans have a problem I'd be happy to put colour codes in for the groups. Post your suggestions for each group in the colour you suggest so others can see how it looks.

Posts that include the incorrect spelling of the word "colour" may be ignored  :emot_rotf.gif:

You are a civilised person in spite of being both Irish and Australian, on account of spelling.

2000+ could be lime green.

I'm rather fond of lime green for 2000+.  So fond, I might even refer to it as a colour (instead of a color).

#00FF00 (Lime green) is fine for the Masters degree.

I think those that are Undergrads (500 posts) could also have a distinguishing colour
