The contest is (at least NaNoWriMo) is about writing 50,000 words. There is nothing in the rules for WriMo for the story its self to be complete. I don't know about the contest here or the other site. But for WriMo it's the number words completed.

Please feel free to say if my rules state (or imply) otherwise, but it doesn't need to be strictly complete, just satisying the conditions. Once it satisfies them, the story is, by technicalities, complete.

While I have the floor also, I have seen the posts regarding voting. I'll undertake a word count after entries close, and once I've sifted out those under count, I'll set voting up. So it'll be at least a day before voting commences. At that point, yes, I'll give enough time to go through entries; how much time I'll have to announce when it starts.

Two quick questions.  Does the story need to be "finished" as in nicely edited by the deadline or just posted?  Also, can we edit it after if we miss a piece or two?  My story will require several hours of formatting and editing.  I'm close enough that I can either post and edit what I've got or complete the whole story by the deadline then edit and format it after.

Army of One stated it is about the number of words nothing else. Just like WriMo is.

Don't let me have the only entry, folks.

Even if you have to pad it with stuff like "No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop! No, please, stop!"  ;D
The rumors about me are scurrilous, depraved rantings of a sick mind, and I categorically deny any sense of falsehood attributed to them.

Lake Hiawatha. It's my entry for the contest.  It is less porn and more story, written in screenplay format.  I still have about 45k words left to format and about 20k left to write at least, but here's 52k in before the deadline.  I hope to have the rest of the 40k I've already written up by tomorrow.  The rest, give it some time.  This story has kicked my ass.

Ever wonder what happened to Bob, or how George became the badass detective he is?  What happened to Bob's girls?  This story tells you what happened, and where things are going.

Lake Hiawatha is posted with everything I've written up to this point, except one small scene which leads to the 'Kill them all and let God sort them out' part of the story.  I'm going to start writing that over the next couple days.  This should bring the word count to over 90k.  In Final Draft it's 402 pages.
