Poll - What type of stories do you prefer ?
« on: January 21, 2024, 05:34:06 AM »

As a writer who prefers to write in the option one style and sets up the scene to build up the plot.
As any of my readers are aware.

I was wondering what style of story's members of the university prefer to read.
I'd be obliged if you could spend just a moment to answer my short poll.

Thanks in advance.

Many thanks to those who took part in my little poll. Although only eight votes were posted,
the overall majority seem to prefer my idea of a full short story that includes
a Start/Middle/End to make the whole thing come together and make sense.

Again thanks for taking part.

... prefer my idea of a full short story...

Naa...That wasn´t your question because you asked about full stories not about full  SHORT  stories.
As I don´t even read storys like yours where most heroines mostly not even got a name...
As for me A real story starts about 100 K words upward.

I class my stories as full short stories because they have a start, a middle and an end. The length is mostly irrelevant as they are stories and not books. All my stories are complete (or full), they are only split into parts to make posting in this group easier due to restrictions. However all parts are posted at the same time.

If a character needs naming for a story, they will be.

My shortest story posted was 'Off Parade'  which was 1,023 words.
My longest story posted was 'Model Holiday' which was 19,091 words.

As I tend to write mainly about fantasy historical events, a build up and explanation is required to bring the reader up to the same wavelength as the author to understand better the scenario.

However, as you "don't even read stories like" mine To quote your own words, This conversation is basically irrelevant.

Each to their own.

I really love long stories with a good buildup like my own.
