Justin WILLIAMS suspect in rape case
Sacramento police Thursday morning confirmed they served a search warrant Wednesday night at the home of Kings backup center Justin Williams in an investigation involving a woman who claimed she was drugged and raped by the player.
The warrant was served on Williams’ home in the 1900 block of Jim Casebolt Way in Sacramento’s Natomas area at approximately 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sacramento police Sgt. Matt Young confirmed. Young said Williams is a suspect in the investigation and that investigators are talking to a second person. Young would not say who that second person is, but a source close to the investigation told News10 Williams’ girlfriend is also under investigation for alleged involvement in the assault.
Young said police retrieved items from Williams’ home but wouldn’t say what they were.
Williams has returned to Sacramento from Albuquerque, New Mexico, where the Kings play the Utah Jazz Thursday night. The Canadian Press reports the Kings have given Williams an indefinite leave or absence.
“Mr. Williams has been cooperative with us,” Young said. “We have been in contact with him.”
Young said no one has been detained or arrested in the case.
Background
The source close to the investigation told News10 that a woman in her mid-20s reported that she was raped by Williams at his home in the early morning hours of Friday, October 12. The woman told police she believes she was drugged prior to the assault, and that Williams’ girlfriend participated.
A friend drove the woman to the UC Davis Medical Center for treatment on Friday. The hospital reported the alleged assault to police.
Several people associated with the Kings organization, including Williams, were at a party in Williams’ neighborhood following the Kings home loss to Phoenix on Thursday, October 11, according to the source.
Later, a smaller group including the alleged victim went to Williams’ home, the source said.
In a statement issued late Wednesday, Kings spokesman Troy Hanson said, “We recently became aware of a complaint involving Justin Williams that he is apparently is being investigated by the Sacramento Police Department. We are currently in the process of evaluating any additional information that becomes available to us. To our knowledge, no charges have been filed.”
News10’s Bryan May is gathering team reaction in Albuquerque.
Williams Working for Place on Roster
Williams, 23, averaged five points and 4.4 rebounds in 26 games with the Kings last season as an undrafted rookie from Wyoming, impressing fans with his hustle and shot-blocking ability.
He was among the Kings’ final cuts in training camp last season, playing a stint in the NBA Development League before returning to Sacramento in January.
After excelling with the Kings’ summer league team in July, Williams agreed to a one-year deal with Sacramento despite the club’s additions of 7-footers Spencer Hawes and Mikki Moore.
Williams played nine minutes without scoring a point in Tuesday night’s loss to Dallas in Las Cruces.
What the story (as presented here, off the News !0 website) DIDN’T say was the girlfriend is alleged to have spiked the vic’s drink, and that she `may’ have more actively participated.
¿Now, do you think EITHER of them ever heard of this site? I doubt it!

First they came for the Communists, and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn’t speak up,  because I was a Protestant.

Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one  left to speak up for me.

(That part about Catholics doesn’t apply to me, though- Guess they already got me.)
