Valentine's Day 2025 Quickie Contest
« on: January 20, 2025, 10:46:53 PM »
We're bringing back Story Contests, and we're kicking them off with a quick little contest based on everyone's least favorite holiday made by Hallmark: Valentine's Day!

General Contest Rules:
Story must relate in some way, shape, or form to Valentine's Day.  It can be anything you can think of that ties to this holiday.
Entry should be a story new to this board.  If you're bringing it over from another site, please mention from where and when.  Remixes are encouraged.
Any format is open.  Poem, narrative, screenplay, CYA, interpretive dance if you can find a way to post it on one of the story boards in one post.
Entry should be a stand-alone story but if it is part of a continuing arc, it must be able to stand by itself.  For example, it could be a chapter in a longer story, but it has to make sense read by itself.
Story must abide by normal site rules.
If it's French or German, please include a translation or some way for the mono-linguists to enjoy it.
Word limit is 10k words.  Entry must be able to fit in one post, and that's the size limit per post.
Entries are due by 2359 AKST (Alaska Standard Time) February 14th 2025.  This translates to 1000 GMT on the 15th.
Voting will open up after the deadline and close at the end of February.  Votes per person will be determined by number of entries.

Post a link to your story in this thread with a short description and a link to it on the board.

Edited Jan 27th to post a link for the story here instead of the full story.

Well somebody had to take the cherry of this contest, might as well be me. I'd like to submit Valentina (https://ravishu.com/forums/index.php?topic=53554.0) for consideration.

Just to bring this back to general attention. There is still a week to submit your stories. Eternal fame and glory awaits the victor.
