I'd like to know if the BDSM category can be used for normal DID(damsel in distress) stories. I've put one there, but I don't know if it's technically correct. Can any of the mods clear this up for me?

These sections are really just convenient guidelines. If the damsel is restrained, I'd say yes. It's really only a sticking point if you put something in someone's squick category into the wrong section, like extreme in a non-extreme section.
