- Stories must be started in the month stated, and listed here for submission before month's end.
- General site rules apply to contest entries. If changes occur during the voting cycle, votes for violating entries will be ignored.
Okay, let's go into our final contest for the year! Now, the topic I had originally thought of doing was "What's Old is New Again", where we brush up an old story, either by completing/continuing it, or sorting out some plot holes; however, I figured that that might be a better idea for January, when we're coming into the New Year. (Why am I telling you all? So that I can be kept to my promises.)
So, I've gone with this instead. (And I had this idea in the shower, too. I just wish I had typed it up shortly after. Damn you, executive dysfunction!) Your story will consist of two related pieces: the making of the wish itself; and said wish being corrupted, while still keeping to the letter of the wish (if not necessarily the spirit). You'll need to provide both for your entry to be accepted.
Now, before anyone says anything, the one "granting" the wish doesn't need to be a supernatural being, like a djinn, faerie or leprechaun; it can be a very human granter (a lot of you can probably already name at least one such organisation in real life that does this; for the sake of us keeping our sites, I strongly recommend against using these organisations in your stories). Just as long as they are given the wish, and they "grant" it to the wisher corrupted.
You have between the times given above to write and submit your story. I can't wait to see what your minds come up with.
