Now onto 2012 in which the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) began to relax the Can-Con Rules which made Canadian channels devote at least 33% of their broadcasting schedule o Canadian artists. It did help Canadian artists but ticked off investors in Canadian multimedia. Now more than ever stations were allowed to program their day aas they saw fit. Most Canadian artists became unwanted unless they had huge followings. The Rule was reinstated in June 2022 but amended that stations only had to allot 30% of their weekly broadcasting schedule to Canadian artists and to music made outside of Canada with minimal 2 noted Canadian involved
Many of the next ten years will be dominated by Canadian acts who have garnered International success!
