Shame on the person who attacked the woman and even more shame on the other riders for not helping.

So with him being caught on camera, would love to know how he can possibly plead anything besides Guilty! Will lay odds he uses the diminished mental capacity as an excuse for his actions!

Read an account by a person who used to live in the city that the assault occurred within the black majority area of the city and they most or all passengers would have been black.  The person arrested, Fiston Ngoy, is a black whose student visa expired in 2015.  But in spite of having committed a 'sex charge' in 2017 has not been deported as required by immigration law.

According to the US SUN: "He came to the US legally from Congo in 2012 but his visa expired when he ceased to be a student in 2015, according to Fox News.

In 2017 he was sentenced to 120 days' jail and nine months' probation after pleading guilty to a sex charge in Washington DC.

He was put in an immigration detention centre in 2018, but the following year his deportation was halted after a judge ruled his misdemeanor sex offense was not a "serious crime"."

I remember news accounts of that incident. Took place in Japan where a young woman was allegedly raped on a train and claimed the other passengers instead of helping her, joined in the attack. Big stink with claims of her having mental issues, apathy of the public, etc.  As i recall early 90's maybe later, not sure. Working from memory here but believe those are the basics.
