I don’t have a gripe with the Beatles and I prefer their earlier stuff before they became bigger than Jesus!

Right on the theme of the Beatles and three songs by past Beatles that I really love

John Lennon and The Plastic Yoko Band  All We Are Saying

Ringo Starr It Don’t Come Easy

Paul McCartney- Maybe I’m Amazed

Five -never big in North America, not like in Europe
Green Day- never impressed me but then neither did the entire pop/punk movement
Robbie Williams- did have a chart hit with Rock DJ but not much else. Even "Angels" failed to make it big here. Course I blame Jessica Simpson for that!

Going to present three Canadian acts in the eighties that no one outside of Canada probably ever heard of

Doug And The Slugs- "Too Bad"

The Northern Pikes- "She Ain't pretty

The Partland Brothers- "Soul City"

Kylie- stuck in my head for another reason, which I don't want her out of my head for!
Moulin Rouge Quarette- three out of four join Kylie. Lil Kim can go get coffee!
Nelly- loved that song until it got overplayed over head! Still find her attractive!

Well if they make you feel old then then time to make you a dream in your parents eyes

"You Are The One" by the Sugar Bears (8 Boxtop and a quarter and you could get the whole album. A crappy carboard copy of the single was on the back of the box itself!)

"Smoking In The Boys Room" by Brownsville Station

"Maggie May" By Rod Stewart "Album Cut"

Always loved Dire Straits. Mark Knopfler was a genius at times.

"Money For Nothing.  This is Sting in the background singing "I want my MTV"

"Heavy Fuel" One of my faves from what might be their best album, "On Every Street."

"Telegraph Road." The long version is worth listening to just to savor Knopfler's amazing lead guitar work. Starts off slow and almost quiet but keeps building.

I will agrees that Dire Straits was the band of the Eighties. Knopfler was a true guitar virtuoso who could make the strings sing like a human voice like no one else of the times!

CCR- what can you say about a true American band who didn't let popularity spoil their sound!

Soundgarden- never was a big fan of them

The Doors- maybe i was too young to appreciate them back during their heyday, but now I am enjoying their music more and more

Overall a merit will be awarded from me when possible!

Great stuff Darklord and Graham.

Dire Straits is the sound of my early childhood tucked In bed reading a book while Dad would play it on repeat downstairs.

Soundgarden are my go to band for heavy vibes and just Cornell’s voice gives me goosebumps.

The Doors are my mums favorite band and I think I’ve seen more Posters of Jim Morrison topless than anything else he remains a fixture in this house!

So a sad week for music especially with Charlie Watts passing away.

So three of my favorite tracks by the Stones.RIP Charlie.

First it’s Ruby Tuesday and this version is live.

A track that gives me the vibes and a very “ Nam” orientated one, it’s Gimme Shelter

Finally a lesser known one and from later in their careers up to 1994
It’s Love Is Strong, such a sexy track and sums up the Stones in a nutshell.

Maybe just me but I never found the Stones any good. Always thought that Jagger was a waste of a person!

So in the sixties we had the original British Invasion and Canada (At least in Ontario and the Maritimes loved the influx of talent) then came the superstars of the seventies

Elton John

Rod Stewart

Paul McCartney And Wings
