One advantage of an advance age is when you can make the current generation learn that music wasarounf way before them! Turned an thirteen year old onto one of my favorite songs. "Da Doo Ron Ron"

The original By The Crystals

Shaun Cassidy

A version from 2015 by Irena Kubáková, Jiřina Menšlová a Eva Fatková

First Alice Cooper welcomed you to his nightmare:

Then Ronnie James Dio! With ex-Toto member Steve Lukather on lead guitar!  From the 1999 album Welcome To My Nightmare: An All-star Salute to Alice Cooper.

Dio maybe a metal god but he killed the feel of Cooper's original song in my opinion

So this is the original "Calling Dr. Love" by Kiss

And this is a wannabe by Shandi's Addiction from "Kiss My Ass: Classic Kiss Regrooved"

Yeah, I'd stick with the KISS original for sure!

And in the case of Alice Cooper, yes, I agree. I am a huge fan of Ronnie James Dio, but he doesn't do that song justice.

So even classic Bond themes are not  immune to being covered!

Paul McCartney And Wings

Geri Halliwell

Personally I would rather hold her than Paul but when it comes to singing this Paul Takes its hands down!

Yeah, Gerri has the better looks, LOL, but Sir Paul's version is still superior!

Who really is The Real Me?  Roger, Pete, John, and Keith?

OR Blackie Lawless and W.A.S.P.?

Once more there was no reason for a modern band to cover a Classic song by the Who!

But with that in mind Who is the better "Pinball Wizard

The Who

Or Sir Elton from the Rock opera "Tommy"

No not going to add the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain version since very little can complete with that cover! :emot_laughing.gif:

Was a good movie, and Sir Elton did a great job, but I'll stick with The Who's version.  But not too sure about this Ukelele version!  :emot_weird.gif:

Another example of heavy rockers wandering into alien territory:

Then Queensryche's version:

Well when you think of the singers involved it does come as a shock that any of then would consider cutting their hair! personally I like the version better than the original!

Stay with the idea of covering a different genre I'm going to present "Rolling In The Deep" by Adele

Just learnt that one of my favorite songs was actually a cover. "They Don't Know)

The original by Kristy MacColl from 1978

Covered by Tracey Ullman

Personally Tracey version touches me deeper than the original

Kirsty was amazing and taken way too soon in a tragic accident. Most people just know her from Fairytale of New York but she was highly talented and true great working class chick rock of the 80s.
