I forgot John Williams had also composed the theme for the 1978 Superman movie.

Some classic TV westerns

Gunsmoke

Rawhide

Bonanza

Three of the biggest reasons the fad of TV became a main staple in American homes. Hard to believe that Michael Landon and Clint Eastwood used their individual series as a stepping stone to greater fame!

You betcha!  Rowdy Yates and "Little Joe" Cartwright!  They became household names.

Thanks for the uploads.

Superman I didn’t like much but loved the themes

I know some of the Westerns as my dad used to watch them on a Sunday lol  so thank you for that

I was educated by Robocop Rachel as I know the movie but couldn’t remember the theme. It was violent movie at the time.

This is one of my favorite tracks by one of my favorite pop groups. The Spice Girls didn’t have a patch on them and this just made the Beach a better film not to say it wasn’t good.

All Saints Pure Shoes.

That movie never played here in Ontario at all. We only got the video here since Nicole and Natalie were hailing from Hamilton! Now looks like I have to go find a film! Great pick Jessica!

Spent most of the morning babysitting a poor deprived child who had never seen the "Superfriends" before. Of course I couldn't let a child be ignorant for long

Especially since it's about the only time DC heroes were successful!

While we're still on tv shows, two iconic tracks that are really excellent are

Vikings

House M.D.

Another really interesting one is the intro for Weeds, which was the same song performed by different artists every season. You sort of clung to the lyrics instead of the melody. A few examples:

The last one is sung by Billy Bob Thornton.

Maybe it's just me but The opening theme song for Vikings and House was the best part of the show!
Loved Weeds theme, seemed a logical song to sing when smoking weed!

by now most here knows that I have a warped upbringing thanks to TV and today's presentation is no different- A spy spoof done entirely with Monkeys. Presenting Lancelot Link Secret Chimp, who used a cover of international rock band stars to defeat the agents of C.H.U.M.P.

One advantage I had growing up as a kid, one station that was fresh to air, bought a lot of TV shows by Gerry Anderson in Supermarionation since they were dirt cheap and never seen in North America!

Fireball XL5

Supercar

Stingray

Thunderbirds (my personal favorite!)

Captain Scarlet And The Mysterons

In the late 90 another channel picked up More of Gerry's shows to entertain a new generation of Canadians with

Dick Spanner P.I.

Lavender Castle

Gerry Anderson didn't stop at marionation shows but went on to create some of the best live action Sci-fi shows in British history

U.F.O.

Space 1999

The Protectors

The Persuaders (Tony Curtis and Roger Moore as international playboys crime fighters)

Sapphire And Steele

And before his death Space Precinct

I loved Space:1999! Never missed an episode. But several of those shows, I've never heard of! I guess out on the prairies, we were deprived! LOL.

Here's some classic TV from the 1980s! A show created by Muppet mastermind Jim Henson.

According to the write up on Showtime's website "Blood Theme" was used for ever episode of "Dexter" including the animated series and the up coming revival series! For me I'm hoping so since it's the theme I love hearing the most on the shw!
