The April Shut-in Writing contest.
Open to all storytellers, would-be, wannabe, first-time storytellers at RU. Since we are stuck at home (for the most part), we’re calling this month’s contest, the Shut-in Writing contest. We are restricting this to stand-alone stories writing for the competition in April.
1. Stories are posted in the proper categories, and the links are submitted by the author in this thread for the April Shut-in writing contest.
2. The story must be original new material, and this will be its first posting. This month, they must not be part of an ongoing tale and should have a beginning middle and end.
3. The story should be between 2500 and 5000 words.
4. The story for this month must be submitted between Wednesday, April 1st, and Thursday, April 30th.
5. The story should have some reference to the following —
A. Include a character making a big change.
B. Include some mundane task that one of your characters does routinely.
C. Include a character struggling with a morally gray or dark issue.
6. The story is to be posted in its proper category with a link and short description or hook for the story here.
7. Please refrain from posting your story at other sites until the completion of the contest and voting.
8. Voting is open to all registered RU members and will begin on May 1st and continue to May 15th
Sharpen your pencils, dip your quills, or fire up your keyboards and write, baby, write.
