The April Shut-in Writing contest

The April Shut-in Writing contest.

Open to all storytellers, would-be, wannabe, first-time storytellers at RU. Since we are stuck at home (for the most part), we’re calling this month’s contest, the Shut-in Writing contest. We are restricting this to stand-alone stories writing for the competition in April.

1.   Stories are posted in the proper categories, and the links are submitted by the author in this thread for the April Shut-in writing contest.
2.   The story must be original new material, and this will be its first posting. This month, they must not be part of an ongoing tale and should have a beginning middle and end.
3.   The story should be between 2500 and 5000 words.
4.   The story for this month must be submitted between Wednesday, April 1st, and Thursday, April 30th.
5.    The story should have some reference to the following —
           A. Include a character making a big change.
        B. Include some mundane task that one of your characters does routinely.
           C. Include a character struggling with a morally gray or dark issue.
6.   The story is to be posted in its proper category with a link and short description or hook for the story here.
7.   Please refrain from posting your story at other sites until the completion of the contest and voting.
8.    Voting is open to all registered RU members and will begin on May 1st and continue to May 15th

Sharpen your pencils, dip your quills, or fire up your keyboards and write, baby, write.

Meet Joe Nobody, shake his hand, buy him a beer, shot the shit with him. But never, every introduce him to your daughter. Especially if she's lovely, young, with a prepubescent curiosity. This is my April Writing Contest entry.

Didn't your mother ever tell you hitchhiking could be dangerous?  Well here's one young lady who is going to find out the hard way!

Here is my entry to the April Shut-in Writing Contest.  I hope I get at least a couple votes, but either way, enjoy the story!   ;D

It's called The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking.

I could rape your pussy, but I'd be in and out in a few minutes. So I choose to rape your mind, and I'll be inside you forever!

I have an idea which I think has a great lockdown theme, very much in keeping with he current world challenges but not sure I can really hit the suggested items you are asking for.

Surely the contemporary theme is more important than whether the lead character is considering a life changing moment.

Thoughts people?

In these times, every day people contemplate life changing moments. A shut-in society is life changing. As I said, the only must is it must be submitted in April and not be published else where prior to being posted here. All the other stuff are really prompts help push your muse. So write, Angie UK, write. Try to keep it in the word count, and have fun with it.

My entry to the writing contest called Covid-19 Medic

I tried to come up with a scenario that was only likely to occur in the CV-19 lockdown and get the themes in.

Good luck everyone xxx

Final day to post your story. Hurry and get-er-done.  :emot_kiss.gif:

I'll post a new contest tonight or in the morning. And post the poll for April after midnight or in the morning as well.
