I have never been ashamed of being an ABBA fan, (although I've never bragged about it a lot around friends, LOL )  but yeah I've always liked them. And you, Graham, just happened to select one of my all time favorite ABBA songs. I think I was about 11 or 12, and a friend of mine was given the album Arrival for a birthday present. We played the hell out of that album on his mom and dad's stereo!  Knowing Me, Knowing You was one of their best!

What a song, when you listen to it for the first time you think its an innocent song about Bangkok. But listen again and do some background checking and you learn that this is a dire warning to all westerners about the hidden dangers of Bangkok! Great Choice Vile8r1 merit will come when allowed

Until then why don't you learn some "Self Control"

Now there's a trip to the 80s! LOL! Haven't heard Laura Branigan in years. Good choice!

Yeah it took me a while to notice that myself but when you listen closely to the lyrics of One Night in Bangkok, you realize they are very dark. I too have read that about the song, that there was a much more serious message to the lyrics.

Loved that Laura Brannigan track!

Some greats in there that I wouldn’t call guilty pleasures such as Dido lol back to my teenage years and ABBA I adore!

Ok was never a Spice Girls fan. I think the movie really finished it for me with them.
And while a lot my 9-10 year old friends were thinking they were the best thing since........well the best thing ever! I was listening to Oasis and Blur, not to mention Beautiful South, The Corrs and Alanis Morrisette.

However this was shameless advertising for Pepsi (bigger than Coca Cola, here in the UK)  by the Spice Girls and this was the closest I got to “Girl Power” as I did play this repeatedly

It’s “Move Over” by the Spice Girls!

Have never seen those commercials  even after watching brit shows with commercials in them. Not surprised that Pepsi used the song as a commercial for it's product, after all it used their slogan!  Now for me only Ginger and Baby spice did anything for me but I have never denied that as a whole they girls could sing!

It took the song "I'm an Adult Now" to show me The Pursuit of Happiness.

Interesting note, just as the song got airplay on Toronto radio, lead singer Moe Berg was chosen to host the Sunday morning teen show "Switchback" a month before the ultimate cancellation of the show in favor of an omnibus re-airing of "Coronation Street"

Today going to show the difference the same artist does in video for the same song based on what charts the song it to enter

Paul Young- Everything must Change

British Version
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLPeRDJGKvQ

American Version
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdSieF8hn08

Both version are good but I feel in the American version you can see Paul flinch from the bright spotlight  and that the background vocalists are being made to look like a Motown band! Too bad they couldn't mix the two versions to make one definite version!

I loved the Pursuit of Happiness and played the hell out of their first album, Love Junk.  Moe Berg was an Alberta boy, born and raised in St. Albert, Alberta. I saw them in concert in 1990 opening for Kim Mitchell. A damn good show!

Here's a guilty pleasure from the '80s. Howard Jones, No One Is To Blame. I can never help but sing along whenever I hear this song on the radio.

Have to say here in North America Howard was a very underrated star! never achieved the success he enjoyed in Europe

Today guilty pleasure comes from Russia, Julia Parshuta formerly of Yin Yan, who left the group for a solo career!
