Hi,  I am currently writing a few fantasy, non consensual stories too post on Ravishu and I am paranoid about someone finding them on my laptop.  I use a good paid VPN & private window when viewing porn site &  tumblr pics. some of these are borderline age wise.  If a little drunk I sometimes bookmark vids from booloo type sites, fairly soft porn.  I copy pics to my flash disk if interesting & write my stories also to flash disk.  I travel a lot, but not with my flash disk & was wondering if I am taking too much of a chance as I use my laptop for business also.  My passwords for all site I visit are unique & very secure!  Am I being paranoid, or can anyone offer some words of advice?

Since you're using Word, format, I assume some Windows operating system?  Honestly, I can't say with any sureaty.  (I'm not a Forensic computer tech, I'm an Industrial Engineer.)  I Just got an update from Microsoft this morning, and I'm not done going over the changes made, but no.  Text formatted files shouldn't be backed up in cache on your computer if you save directly to Flash, or some other external device.  Plug, and play, not over a Network, like a LAN.

Pictures, and video especially might, however.  So, get in the habit of clearing the Cache in your Browser Settings.  What brouser do you use?  Honestly, I can't say from here, someone would have to go through your laptop, or at least connect Remote Desktop to see what can be found, and a Forensic tech would be better qualified.  I understand if you don't want to send it to the FBI lab to ask them if there's anything dirty on your computer they can find.  Unless someone has access to your computer, AND knows where to look, it would be extremely difficult.  Especially with the precautions you already took, but Incognito (Or whatever your browser calls it) Mode is not Secure.  Basically, all that does is not save your History to History.  If you have Cookies, or get something like a Keystroke WORM, it won't do anything about that.

Hi Psiberzerker, the browser I use is Firefox, Win10, Word, VPN paid!  I have copied some interesting things onto my flash drive & I usually right click, click 'save image as,' give it a name like, "cute innocent  semi naked," & save to my 'F,drive'; which is my flash disk!  Your quite right in your assumption of not wanting FBI to confirm all is "A OK,!" Many thanks for your response to my first question & I await further comments, if any?  Also, a thousand apologies for my late reply.  Rgds Jo

PS: I've just posted another question regarding, TOR/VPN...

I would never use a work computer to access anything porn related.  I avoid using my work computer for anything that isn't related to my work, not just porn, as I like to be above suspicion.

You are right to be very careful, but there's no such thing as too careful.   I work in IT.   Just being caught with any kind of porn (let alone the kind we have around here) could be very damaging to your career prospects.   Keep being careful, but get your own laptop ASAP, and be careful even on your own laptop!
