Hi all,
So, last month we had a contest where I set the number of votes to 9, on the grounds that we had about 90 stories, and as the number goes up so should the number of winners. This follows my philosophy that the contest is here to honor our good stories, and not to give just one story the right to brag about being 'best'.
That said, I found in practice that picking nine stories was a bit of a feat, and more stress-inducing than it ought to have been. I could see from the numbers that some of you didn't bother to try to get nine. Maybe there's a point when we just say 'enough' and cap it, maybe at five.
What say you all? Keep scaling with entries, or put a maximum number of votes constraint regardless of the number of entries? I'm leaning to the latter, but I'd love feedback (on this or any other issue, now that we've been running this several months now).
