Immigration issue or sexual assault?
« on: March 22, 2017, 11:55:19 AM »
Terrible case in MD. Where a 14 year old female was allegedly raped in boys bathroom during school by what appears to be those here illegally.  The right wing is already using this as a rallying cry for action against illegal immigrants.  My deeper questions point to the lack of security and failure of the school to protect its students.  Not defending what happened in the least but it should be pointed out that legally this school does not have to ask the students the status of their immigration according to one article I read.  This is a case of rape let's not lose sight of that

As usual, lots of hot air on all sides, but little substantive because talking about the basics is boring. The basics are: a crime was committed in a school. The school may or may not be found to have lacking security. The end.

Darklord, you've of course hit on the main factor that makes this not an immigration case: the school lacked that knowledge and had no way to obtain that information anyway. It's not like the school could add extra rape-prevention protocols if only they knew who was who. It's not like there exists a school-level means of making sure the immigrants toe the line specifically, and illegals extra-specifically. That remains a fantasy of the right.
The rumors about me are scurrilous, depraved rantings of a sick mind, and I categorically deny any sense of falsehood attributed to them.
