The Cure According to an avowed non-nerd.

First, make sure you have bookmarked www.ravishu.com, and not www.74.50.6.23/forums.

Then delete all your old cookies and clear the cache. It is the old cookies that are interfereing with the new ones that are causing the problem

To clear Cookies and Cache:  Go to your control panel and select internet options.  Under the "General" tab select "delete cookies" (deletes cookies) and then "Delete Files" (clears cache)

Because cookies can be stored in more than one location:
http://www.aboutcookies.org/Default.aspx?page=2

Another way to clear the cache: (Internet Explorer)
Up top in the pull-down menus (File, Edit, Tools etc.),
click Tools, then
'Internet Options'

This brings up a dialog with 6 tabs across the top (General, Security,
Content, .......)

Click 'General;, the look for 'Temporary Internet Files'

Click 'Delete Files', then (if it appears, check off 'Delete all offline
content';, then click 'OK'.

Click 'OK' again and this should clear all cached pages.
So much oppression in our culture is based on shame about sex: the oppression of women, of cultural minorities, oppression in the name of the (presumably asexual) family, oppression of sexual minorities. We are all oppressed. We have all been taught, one way or another, that our desires, our bodies, our sexualities, are shameful. What better way to defeat oppression than to get together in communities and celebrate the wonders of sex?

Toes , to  pick up on a point with the password , mine is 11 letters and numbers and i have the same problem as deb ,, it is correct the first time but wont let me in ,,, until i re type it the second time .. and i have it stored on the system so it pops up when i use my user name ,,

Unfortunatley i tried firefox and did not like it , feel more comfortable with ie7 so i still have this prob..

Using Emily's suggestion, I did this fix a few days ago/Jays directions and it worked.

I have FireFox aka Mozilla, and its great for storing passwords. I love it.  I just type in my user name and the pass word automatically springs up and upon clicking enter... I'm in.

I do.  When I log on it says password incorrect and I have to put password in a second time....everytime I log on.  The password is correct the first time.

Deb, I would try updating your password to make sure it contains at least 8 characters in it. I had the same trouble until I changed mine from 7 to 8. A pain, I know, but it may just solve your problem.  ::):

Friendly suggestion to all, try using Firefox/Mozilla as your browser... works better then IE, ("thanks Jamie, you're so smart"  ;) ) and if you are, make sure you have it's most updated version.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070515 Firefox/2.0.0.4

When you login to most sites coded in PHP it's done with sessions (stores info based on a hash in a cookie which maps you to the session).  When you close your browser, the session is no longer used but the web server (more specifically PHP) doesn't know this until you've been inactive for X seconds (actually, in this case, SMF does it since PHP just clears them).  Until you've been inactive for X seconds, SMF assumes you're still signed in (unless you signed out by clicking a link).
