Some people may seem fairly vanilla only to reveal a darker side later on.

After being burnt by men pretending to be women to talk to a man (on fetlife) if I will be meeting someone, or if the relationship feels like it is developing, I will at some point ask for proof, nothing major, a picture of them holding a piece of paper with a statement I ask them to write.

I happily do the same. These days there are so many images that can be lifted from the internet you may think this person with 500 pics is genuine, then you find that Sarah is roger from Scunthorpe, he is a fat balding middle aged man with nothing else in his life, he isn’t even gay. Now that confuses me :)

I found two very nice people there, so I think so.  But just like everywhere else there are lots of idiots too.

I recently met with a fellow off of FetLife.  After our meeting he said he was looking for someone more "athletic".  :emot_rotf.gif:

I guess that's a polite way of saying I'm too fat for him, because I never told anyone in any profile anywhere that i was an athlete.

Ahhh. Now fetlife isn’t a dating site, apparently according to some :). If I am going to meet someone off fetlife I usually try and persuade them to come to a munch, although not my own, to busy hosting and stuff and it feels a little show offy :). that way they feel safe (I am an evil sadistic bastard after all lol) and if we don’t click they may well meet someone they do with, plus I think munches and the scene in general are great :).

One massive advantage of online dating is you can have all the awkward conversations before you meet so when you are finally face to face (or she is face down) you can get on with the fun stuff
