So much oppression in our culture is based on shame about sex: the oppression of women, of cultural minorities, oppression in the name of the (presumably asexual) family, oppression of sexual minorities. We are all oppressed. We have all been taught, one way or another, that our desires, our bodies, our sexualities, are shameful. What better way to defeat oppression than to get together in communities and celebrate the wonders of sex?

Opening from Adult Swim's 'Robot Chicken'.  Me droogs will recognize the reference at 20 seconds...  Evil
Hey, I don't watch Adult Swim... I'm lucky I stumbled across it!

And here's a helpful hint for YouTubers:

Sometimes there's a higher-resolution version of the video stored at YouTube.  The fuckers will NOT tell you, and will NOT let you set 'high def' as a default so that they don't clobber their precious bandwidth.

Start appending &fmt=18 onto your YouTube URLs (you can do it right in the address bar), and if you luck out and hit one of the high-def versions then enjoy the extra quality!

It doesn't hurt anything to do it all the time, all you get is an extra warning whine in red and it falls back and plays it's (generally pitiful) lower-res quality video instead.  It leave the warning message up, though.

Here's an example of the difference, try 'em both and notice the quality change (the video is work-safe)

youtube.com/watch?v=HVgivYyE0DQ
vs.
youtube.com/watch?v=HVgivYyE0DQ&fmt=18

The grass looks a little more defined, and there's less blocking and movement artifacts on the larger video.

(this public message brought to you by a 'net friend of mine!)

Oh, I *so* want to do this here in Dallas!!

It's the only city I've ever been in where utter fucking idiots are in ALL lanes of the freeways.  The dipshit rednecks here will NOT move to the right... they're utterly happy to drive 10mph under the speed limit in the far left lane, while people going 20 OVER the limit are passing people in the on-ramps trying to get around the brain-dead drivers.  The cops do absolutely NOTHING to stop this idiocy, and in fact the one Dallas cop I'd talked to was as clueless as the rest of the nitwits here.

Me: "So, do you people NOT have a law here in Texas that says 'slower traffic must move right' like the other 49 states do??  I mean, if it's a law, you sure as hell don't enforce it... people are ALL over the roads out here."
on-duty Cop: "No, I don't think there's a law like that..."

Afterward: there IS a law like that here, but none of the fucking cops give a damn.  It's mayhem on the roads.

I actually know someone who drives like that, only without the collisions.

I'm sure everyone has seen this by now, but I always get a kick out of it.

No.  You needn't say more.  *Sigh*  Japanese advertising.

Forgive me if this has already been posted here.  I didn't actually check back through the whole thread (as I normally do).

Ever been to Israel?  You might want to give it some thought.
