I wouldn't stress over the knots, though. If you want to get into it, find a good single-limb cuff knot that works for you, and branch out from there. The "Portuguese Bowline" is pretty good for a cuff knot, as is the "Foole's Cuff" (a la Philip the Foole). I've seen 10 or more different ways of making a cuff, but all ya really need to do is learn ONE of 'em well so that you can tie it quickly.
