Here's an old one-season gem from the late sixties:  T.H.E. Cat

Fun fact:  the guy that wrote this theme (Lalo Schifrin) is the same fellow that wrote the "Mission Impossible" theme.  :-)

Mission Impossible is stilled played up here in Toronto to this day. T.H.E. Cat to my knowledge has never be played since it was cancelled way back in the sixties! Now they were shows that were intelligently written Merit for bringing these back to the forefront!

Some great stuff in there

Remember ReBoot was a minor hit for about a year in the UK when I was around 9
I have seen the Ozelets as it’s familiar!

Never got into Gladiators but know the theme music.
As for the Gladiator by Hans Zimmer epic tune Grumpy!

Time to add more so it’s an English Weekend I think back in my childhood/teenage years.
A lot of songs were played by the programmes dad used to watch

First up Friday night soaps
Neighbors was always on even though no one watched it. One of the forefront’s of the Australian soup wave in the UK

https://.be/CTvMLZCOjU8

My sister still watches EastEnders!

A great show for political gags and a piss take out of current events loved this show!
It’s Have I Got News For You

Onto Saturday and a song everyone in The Uk knows it’s Grandstand, usually to dads dismay and my joy It was Figure Skating! Really nostalgic vibes of this one.

Turns off figure skating and meeting a compromise the horse racing would go on and this song really takes me back.
Channel 4 Racing theme song

No Saturday would be complete without Dads Army

Then onto the evening after tea and we’d be subjected to Noel Edmunds.....yes better off forgotten!

Right don’t want to overload you and will get onto Sunday next.
Enjoy  xxx

The soaps holds no interest for me. biggest reason for my headphones

never heard of the News show and of course blocked from seeing Grandstand or the Horse Racing but great themes there

Loved Dad's Army when PBS in the states ran the show!

Never been a big fan of Noel Edmunds- always thought he was a smug bloke

If i could be so bold- i would love to see some British gameshow themes! only two I'm can think od right off the top of my head are "Tipping Point" and "Catchphrase"

A shame you didn’t get Grandstand an icon of British tv!

Yes I think I can agree with you on Noel Edmunds.
Dads Army is wonderful. Totally PG but with some really clever comedy in it and I love the way you realize when being in the army how close to life it is and doing things that make no sense just because the book says so

Ask and you shall receive

Countdown is a very popular show since the 1980s

The Chase is very in now, quite a good show taken over from Who Wants to Be a Millionaire

Then the Crystal Maze theme
Best damn show on tv in the 90s everyone loved this

Then we have the Weakest Link. Never liked this show or Anne Robinson.

Then for a kick arse news theme it’s Sky News
Try reading your diary with playing in the background and it makes saying you went to the shops sound dramatic

Enjoy xxx

I will not Post a Link to this piece of music because I don't know how.....

The single most frightening piece of music I have heard as a theme was Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" from the William Peter Blatty classic "The Exorcist." Even now that haunting theme gives Me nightmares when I hear it.........

Thank you Jessica, I love when I get to hear and see things that thanks to being in Canada is a bit restricted to us Don't forget even the BBC Evening News is blocked to us thanks to BBC World News. And don't even get me started about Sports shows or events

I've heard of Weakest Link since an American version ran at the same time The British version did with the same host' Lately the have revived it with Jane Lynch of "Glee" fame as host trying to duplicate Anne Robinson!

Heard of "Countdown" thanks to the complication videos of "8 Out Of 9 Cats does Countdown"
Similar to "The Chase" but never got to hear the theme

Would love to watch "The Crystal Maze"

I know that "Sky News" is available through the Roku Service but I have never view it!

Thank you Jessica for this! merit when able to
