Lord Horror's Film Appreciation Club

I love films about, involving, or otherwise depicting imperiled women.

This thread started in the BDSM section, but I moved it here when I found I had more to add.

The three I posted originally:

Control

Love Hurts (some low-budget violence/gore]

Creep

I watched "Creep" the other night and at first it struck me as a bit of a letdown.

I spent the next 24 hours or so turning the film over in my head and it's since grown on me.

The film has some interesting insights into the nature of psychology, complacency and hubris.

Stolen Hours

Stolen Hours: I think the imagery of the field scenes will resonate with a lot of people here.

The movie has a bit of a "high school project" feel to it but the increasingly jarring way it handles jump cuts is suitable for the story.

On a side note, this film gets the Golden Sole merit for contributions to the foot fetish community.

Networking

This one struck a chord with me.

The characterization is fantastic and the short film's sole song is used to great effect.

Plus, while the film shows a lot, it also leaves a great deal to the imagination -- and the dark implications might be more compelling than the film itself.

Girl Watcher

Girl watcher: the opening moments of this film are fantastic.

The rest of the film seems plagued by heavy-handed biblical references that have little relation to the story, and seem to only give away the twist at the end.

Kidnappers

The victims always get credit in an abduction situation.

Kidnappers never get the credit they deserve.

Kidnappers are people too, you know.
