So I feel that there's three levels of Porn for ladies.

Porn Girl: This tier consists of Nude Models, Extra, Softcore and girls who have bios that read something like. Vaginal only, no fluids anywhere. #Princess - Their careers, are (I'm guessing) short lived.

Porn Star: These are girls that have made porn their living.  While I'm not sure the term 'star' should apply to them, eh I won't throw shade. These girls have about 2-7 year careers depending on their age, shape, ethnicity, willingness to take it in the butt, or be essentially gang raped in public areas.  The more willing you are to go to the extremes the longer your career.  But that says nothing of earning potential...because...

Porn Superstars: These ladies not only made porn their living but were so good that they crossedover into mainstream media.  I consider even a girl who's had one appearance in mainstream post porn to be at this level.   They usually become famous for their looks but make their money behind the camera as studio heads or producer/directors.

Here's my question.  Is it possible for someone to go from mainstream (I'm thinking writer obviously) straight to Porn Superstar aka moneymaker behind the scenes?

If so how? It's not that I dont think I could do porn, its that I don't want my tits and ass out there long term for my grandkids to be like, jeez nana Q you're a fucking whore!  Thoughts?!

I admit to having no experience in this area - but I doubt that anyone could go from mainstream writer to porn producer/director - unless they had enough cash to finance their own production.

Think about it - why would anyone hire a person with no experience in the industry? It's a business, you hire the people who can do the job best. As you say, there are some women who have gone from star to director/producer - and by that time they have the experience, the connections and (if they've been sensible with their earnings) the cash to get them somewhere.

Basically, without either experience in the porn industry or a suitcase full of money I don't think it's going to happen.

Hmmm, that sucks because I've no desire to be defiled for the pure amusement of the masses. Maybe like 5  or 6 guys....at once....somewhere private....like a park or bar.....but the problem with porn is your likeness gets pimped out LONG after you get paid and you end up w/ no residual income from it. But from behind the camera I can be the pimp lol

 I wouldn't give up yet.

As I said - I doubt that you can simply waltz in and park your (sweet, firm, young...) ass in the director's chair. But you could still work your way up to it - from BEHIND the camera, not in front of it.

From a technical standpoint, porn is no different from mainstream filmaking. Lighting, angles, knowing how to use the equipment etc. If you don't want to spend several years getting your asshole reamed out then I suggest you start by learning about film production. Learn how to use a camera. Gain the technical skills needed to be useful on a set. THEN approach a porn studio and see if you can get a job. It won't be easy - but no-one starts at the top unless they have money or connections.

With an increase in female directors/producers I would think it's becoming easier for women to get jobs in the production side of things. Approach it like any other career - get your foot in the door and work your way up. Hopefully you'll be producing your own movies before I'm too old to whack off to them...

Well writing won't be a problem, I already think I have better writing than most porn currently being produced. I wish there were porn internships!

I agree with Algore on starting out behind the camera, but I'll go him one further.

Video technology today is easier than it's ever been. Hell, people are becoming famous for shooting stuff on iPhones.
I say borrow or rent a decent camera, take some time to learn what you can do with it, persuade some of your hot friends to "act" for you and go for it.

Write a script that won't be too challenging technically, i.e. mostly daylight scenes. Rehearse! It's amazing how many blown lines are included in even the best rape porn. Cheesy Shoot cutaways to set the scene, convey movement between sites, show actors pondering their next move, etc. Heavy boots creeping slowly up the stairs of the young maiden's apartment, his hand on the doorknob, her concerned look in the mirror as she stops brushing her hair thinking she heard something: that sort of stuff.

The beauty of shooting video is the instant playback. You know exactly what you've got and if you need to reshoot it either for better quality or a different take on the action. The most difficult thing -- and this is also borne out in commercial rape porn -- is good audio. You really need a boom mic and someone who knows how to get the levels right between environmental sound, talking, screaming and dirty threats whispered in a pretty woman's ear. Evil

Start with a simple scene. Practice some pans, zooms and dolly shots. Sit in the back of a moving pickup truck and shoot someone running along the sidewalk. Then get out, stand on the sidewalk and have him run right past you. Cut these shots together and see how "professional" it looks. As you progress, you'll find yourself needing a video editing deck, but starting out you can shoot things in sequence if you keep it simple.

Keep in mind that Ben Affleck and Matt Damon wrote, acted and produced "Good Will Hunting" right out of the box. Be inspired to follow them.

You CAN become a force in the porn industry without spreading your sexy legs. Unless, of course, you feel compelled to thank me for this valuable encouragement.  Tongue

HQ, not to throw any cold water on your becoming a pron writer (because you can do it) but making it other than in front of the camera requires something different totally. And I'm not talking about talent. My mentor is a wonderful writer and has written professionally for a long time. But he has never made his living from his writing. He changed his pen names several times, was a ghost writer for several successful authors (which by the way he never ever received credit for at all). Has never wanted the limelight. He valued his privacy so much he probably hurt his chances of making a living as an author.

Being discovered as a writer is hard work, for books, screens, or magazines. Often excellent writers never are discovered. Having done what I have done for a living had I gone in to porn it would have been an easier life. I wouldn't do it now if my life depended on it. If, however, when I was a whore someone said lets make a porno I would have done it in a heart beat. I would hate for you do work in front of the camera it is hard on a person, emotionally, and physically.

Just my humble opinion.

We're pretty much at the point where everyone has or will have leaked nudes. I think having a porn star past won't be frowned upon as much as it is now.
