Encerrada/Caged (poem in Spanish, translated to English)
« on: December 15, 2015, 05:57:04 PM »
This poem was inspired by this poem that was recently posted by another user. It's not really related to it, just inspired by it.

Encerrada

Es sagrado tu destino
Y así escrito por los dioses.
Prometía ser divino
Cual dictado de sus voces.

Polvo al polvo, viento al viento.
Caes fuerte sobre el suelo.
Corre ya tu sangre, lento,
Por tu cara como un velo.

Veinte horas han pasado.
Te despiertas encerrada.
Ya la sangre ha coagulado.
Contra un poste estás atada.

Llega el pánico volando
Como un ave de carroña.
Cuando entro, estás llorando.
Tu destino es mi ponzoña.

Caged (translation to English)

Your destiny is sacred
As was written by the gods.
It promised to be divine
As if dictated* by their voices

Dust to dust, wind to wind.
You fall to the ground, hard.
Your blood is already running, slowly,
Down your face like a veil.

Twenty hours have passed.
You wake up caged.
The blood has already coagulated.
You're tied to a post.

Panic comes flying
Like a carrion bird.
When I come in, you're crying.
Your destiny is my poison**

*ordered, commanded
** usually, "ponzoña" is a scorpion's poison; sometimes it's other animals'

edit: Hey, I just noticed that I'm talking about poison and my name has poison in it. ;D I guess I'm somehow fixated with the concept.
