The Betrayal (Diablo 3 story)

WARNING!    You must be 18 or over to read these stories of rape and non-consensual sex.  If you do not like such stories, please stop reading. This story is all fiction.  If you do not understand the difference between reality and fantasy, read no more. Rape is a heinous crime and the penalty is many years in prison. The people who commit rape are despised everywhere. No one is being hurt, and this is pure fantasy. Any similarities to real people, places or situations is purely coincidental and not intended!

The time has come to start a new story, written together with the great Eridan (Morgan333 on this board). This of course takes place in an alternative D3 storyline, totally non-canon but I hope you enjoy it either way.

The air was thick with the stench of sulphur and demon corpses as the three women made their way across the battlefield. Strewn about everywhere were the carcasses of numerous nightmarish creatures that the three had slain. Blood and ichor stained their path and their clothes and all three bore the signs of severe exhaustion.

Melyna, clad in tight-fitting leather armor that offered only the slightest protection, a hood obscuring her delicate features, set, as usual in a stony, stoic expression, was in the lead. Her two crossbows at the ready even now that the battle was over, she walked with a noticable limp, each step causing her no small amount of pain.

Maryth, clad in elaborate robes holding a staff, was behind her. The sorceress' face was covered in soot and while she had suffered no outward injuries, she trembled with pure exhaustion. The battle against Azmodan, the leader of the demonic invasion force, had taken every bit of magical power she had. It would take a while before she would be back to her old self. Still, she affected a haughty expression of smug superiority as she gazed over the dead demons, many of which she had felled with her destructive magics. Her long dark hair, usually tied in a neat ponytail, had become undone, adding to her weary appearance.

Thea was the last one of the group, hanging back to watch out for any demons that might follow them. The young monk wore the least armor of all of them, her clothing consisting only of a loose tunic and pants, a simple circlet surrounding her head. Her short white-blond hair was a mess and she sported several cuts all over her body, her clothes little more than rags on her athletic, well-trained body.

„ I don't remember the fortress being that far away“, Maryth muttered, leaning heavily on her staff for a moment. Normally, she would rather die than admit to weakness, but she had survived so much together with these two women it did no longer matter.

„ That's because we were busy killing demons“, Melyna responded, idly kicking the corpse of a fallen one out of the way. „ That always helps to kill time.“

„ Mel...“, the calm voice of Thea sounded, „ you are aware that, after this, we could finally be rid of the hordes, right? Maybe you should find something to do during peacetime...let go of your hatred when it no longer serves you.“

Maryth rolled her eyes. She had heard this discussion more often than she could count. Melyna was a seething cauldron of hatred for demonkind...which was not a bad thing in and of itself, but her fury often bordered on the suicidal and reckless. While none of them had any love for the demons that ravaged their world, Maryth suspected some deep tragedy to be responsible for Melyna's boundless hatred. But the huntress never spoke of it and Maryth knew better than to pry.

„ To think they'll just leave us be because we killed their general...that's foolish. As long as there are children to eat, men to slaughter and women to rape, they will always find a way into this world. And when they do, I will be there.“ The huntress spoke with almost hurtful sharpness, but Thea took it in stride.

„ It is both the hardest and easiest thing in the world to let go of past pains“, she responded....then, before Melyna could answer, she pointed towards something. „ Look! We're almost there!“

And indeed, the smoke parted and there it was – the grim outline of the fortress, a massive building hewn into the very mountains, the greatest fastness the world had ever seen. And still, it had almost fallen, had it not been for the brave defenders...and the three of them. They had risked life and limb to take down Azmodan in what was basically a suicide mission. But they had succeeded, banishing his soul into the black soulstone, to be sealed away forever.

Maryth felt her spirit rise at the sight of the fortress. Finally, they could rest and celebrate. Unlike Melyna, she actually relished the idea of peace and of being reunited with their comrades. Shyla, the stalwart crusader, had been left behind to guard Leah, heir to the knowledge of the late Deckard Cain and daughter of the witch Adria. Maybe with some luck, Kandra would also be back from her own mission. The barbarian warrior had been sent off on a mission of her own to organize the defenders of the other fortresses in the mountains.

Seeing the boisterous warrior-maiden again was a prospect that made Maryth smile. Despite them being as different as night and day, they had formed a fast friendship that was about to blossom into something much deeper...but neither of them had had the time to think much about it. Besides a drunken night of frenzied love-making shortly before their departure, there was little indication of how things could progress. Still, just seeing her again would be a fitting reward for their troubles.

The rest of the way was surprisingly easy, the sight of the fortress having bolstered their spirits and given them a burst of surprising energy.

However, that energy quickly ebbed away when, instead of the cheers of the defenders, only silence greeted the three women. „ Something...is very wrong here....“, Melyna snarled, seeing the front gates shattered.

A few metres away, the defenders lay in bloody heaps, slaughtered by claw and blade. „ The fortress has been breached!“

Maryth closed her eyes, trying to summon up more of her magics. She was still exhausted, however, the magical energies coming only slowly to her. Then, suddenly, there was a scream that shattered her concentration like glass.

„ Leah!“ Melyna called out, hurrying up the stairs.
Careful“, Thea called after her, „ we need to see what the situation is first....“
“Did you hear that scream?” Melyna almost barked at the monk “There is no time to be careful! The defenses have been breached… the demons have reached Leah and Shyla!”

“We won’t help them by rushing into rescue blindly” Thea said in her calm, soothing voice, putting her arm on Melyna’s shoulder “I’m not saying we are to do nothing… but we should need to check the situation first.”
“Fine” the huntress simply said and slid into the fortress.
“Remember, it is better for us not to raise any alarm” Thea said after her, hoping that Melyna would hear and comply.
“Have faith” Maryth said “Even tired as we are, we should have no problems slaughtering some demons” and even though her voice was strong and confident as always, Thea knew that the wizardess was aware of the fact that if the defenses have been breached, there would be more than just a handful of demons left.

Meanwhile Melyna moved silently as a shadow, scouting the interior of the fortress. Even though the defenders have been surprised with the brutal attack, they’ve managed to organize resistance. Bodies of soldiers lied intertwined with the foul husks of demons. She moved unseen, cloaked from the sight or whatever other senses the demons used with her discipline and practiced arts.
Thea and Maryth followed, the monk as silent as the huntress, but also remembering to watch over the wizardess, who wasn’t as able when it came to stealth and subtlety. Even though she did her best to control her feeling, she too was aware of the tension and… yes, even some form of fear the all three of them must have felt. It was one thing to risk their own lives, standing against the unholy hordes, it was a completely different thing moving into a demon-occupied grounds hoping against better judgment that they haven’t  been too late, that their friends were still alive.

Another scream threatened to disrupt this self-control the trio sought so hard to maintain. There was no question about it, the voice was Leah’s. Did the demons reach her already? If so, what became of Shyla? The paladin was their last but also main line of defense of Leah and the legacy of Horadrim that she was the heir to.
Melyna moved towards the source of the screams. They seemed to be coming from an internal courtyard of the fortress, surrounded by yet another ring of walls, some parts of them almost crumbling after resisting countless attacks of the demonic hordes. This path was guarded: two massive goatmen stood on watch, with three smaller demons – the pathetic creatures called the Fallen Ones, running and fighting with each other. Fortunately while the Fallen were occupied with their own struggling and pushing, the goatmen were also not paying any attention to what they were supposed to be guarded – their attention was focused on what was going on in the courtyard – and what currently was blocked from Melyna’s sight.

She didn’t hesitate any longer. Her hand crossbows shot, and the goatmen fell to the ground without making a sound. The Fallen Ones stopped their struggle, but before they could think of raising an alarm, they too were dead. With the guards taken out, Melyna climbed on top of one pile of stones and rubble, waited for her two comrades to join her and protected from the sight from anyone in the courtyard looked to see what was going on there…

And immediately she – and her friends – regretted being witnesses to the horrible scene that was occurring below them. All of the demons who survived the assault on the fortress were there and while there weren’t that many – the defenders and particularly Shyla slew a number of them – there were still more than enough for the three heroines. What was worse, was that Leah and Shyla were also there…
