2 porn torrent trackers *down*
« on: January 11, 2011, 10:37:45 PM »
Or at least that's all I can see, even trying through multiple anonymous proxies around the world.

http://empornium.us and http://puretna.com are both TOAST.  All I get when I try to PING them is the loopback address (127.0.0.1), which LOOKS like all of the route tables EVERYWHERE have been poisoned.  DNS servers are NOT supposed to give that out as a valid address, as it's utterly unrouteable by definition.

Either the US FED (a wholly owned whore ^H^H^H^H^H^Hsubsidiary of Sony and the other DMCA activists) has kneeled to pressure and forced the 'net routers to poison their own route tables, or something else drastic has gone on.

I was gonna ask Zokah if he'd heard anything, but RubberQueen's forum is showing SUSPENDED as of this morning, too.  D'oh!  We were GONNA go with that host, and now I'm damned glad we DIDN'T.  That's the second time I've seen RQPublic taken down by the host.

Sounds like the attacks on Torrent Sites is expanding:

On Thursday, the 25th of November 2010, the Torrent Finder domain ( www.torrent-finder.com ), registered with Godaddy, was seized by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) without any prior takedown notice or specific allegations of infringing activity. The Domain IP was suddenly changed without the registrar's knowledge and the system displayed a "Pending Registry Action" message on the domain's status. No contact was given until Wednesday, the 1st of December, when Godaddy replied to my inquiries, giving a contact for an ICE agent. On Thursday, the 2nd of December, David Snead who is representing Torrent Finder contacted the ICE agent in charge who told him that "the orders are under seal, but that the seal will be lifted today or tomorrow". However, we have not heard from them until writing this post. Another email from Godaddy clarified that the action was taken by VeriSign: "please understand that these actions were taken by Verisign at the Registry level; and not by Go Daddy". The story was first reported on TorrentFreak and NYTimes.com.

The above is old news released by Demonoid.  Share while you can folks, the government is coming after us!
So much oppression in our culture is based on shame about sex: the oppression of women, of cultural minorities, oppression in the name of the (presumably asexual) family, oppression of sexual minorities. We are all oppressed. We have all been taught, one way or another, that our desires, our bodies, our sexualities, are shameful. What better way to defeat oppression than to get together in communities and celebrate the wonders of sex?

There's a problem with the DNS for these sites - in the USA.  Empornium.us is still resolving to  85.159.232.27 everywhere else, although the site itself is not reachable from Australia.  Puretna.com is resolving to 127.0.0.1 from Australia and it looks the DNS tables are slowly being changed elsewhere.  There may be some other sites down as well.  Stay tuned.

A week before both sites disappeared I heard that lots of content had disappeared, including everything from kink.com and Fansadox comics

So it is hard to know what is going on - I found this:  http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110112112008AAGxPK6

Quote
Puretna and Emp.

Both websites have been inaccessible since yesterday,a staff member at both sites and comfirm both sites have been taken down permanently.

Quote:
"The sites are gone forever. They were hacked and will not be back up. Sad day. I'm a Mod at both TnA and EMP. We received an email today saying the sites were hacked and the owners will not spend the money to fix the security holes and have decided to shut down BOTH sites.
For security purposes all the HDD's have been wiped clean by the owners. They (owners) are not willing to sell the sites. They will not be back."

But a post on 4Chan reads:

Quote
PureTnA will be back up in a few days. We have legal issues to take care of but expect the site to return this weekend.

Hmmm.... both sites WERE hacked before, and I can absolutely guarantee it.  I remember getting the PDF popup exploit, and had marked them UNTRUSTED and left it that way ever since 'cos they couldn't seem to find the chunk that was inserting the toxic JavaScript redirect.  I'd offered to help them clean it and was told to buzz off.

Don't forget, over 90% of the shit you read at 4chan is utter bullshit spouted by clueless 16 year olds.

I suppose the loopback DNS entry *could* happen if the owner simply DELETED their DNS entries.  That would tend to support the "we're leaving and not coming back" story, BUT...

Only time will tell for sure.

Apparently the people who run the two sites (hosted on the same servers, from what I hear) just got fed up and wiped everything.  Maybe they thought the feds who breathing down their necks.  Who knows?

Another porn torrent site, Deviloid.net, is trying to entice former users of the two trackers, but it's not like they're going to be the same.

I've found this report commenting on the Empornium/PureTnA wipeout:

http://torrentfreak.com/huge-bittorrent-porn-sites-permanently-shut-down-110113/

Here's another interesting thing.  This is the most recent list of the sites that PureTnA placed on its "banned list" (material that site members were not allowed to upload):

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:jq79PDeuDVEJ:www.puretna.com/docs/index.php/FORBIDDEN+%22The+following+publishers+have+informed+us+by+legal+notice+that+they+have+not+given+permissions+for+any+of+their+content+to+be+shared:%22&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk

These banned lists exist because porn sites contact the torrent site and advise them that if their material is not removed then they will take legal action - it's a wonder that there is any material left to upload with so much stuff banned.  Hell, that list is longer than John Holmes' and Long Dong Silver's dicks combined!

I checked out Deviloid briefly and they want $$$ to get access to the torrents.  They also won't let you upload torrents without first getting credit by downloading and sharing, which you can't do without contributing ....

That doesn't surprise me.  The little I could see of their site conditions indicated that they were quite unreasonable.

The Roomie downloaded a CAM of MegaMind using BitTorrents.  It was a horrible copy and he never watched it, but he got a warning e-mail from Comcast (our broadband provider) saying it had been reported to them that he was violating Copyright and he was being warned.

Possibly the thing had a beacon file incorporated into it, but he deleted it before I could examine it.  What pisses me off is that he can't even remember where he downloaded it from.

They don't have to have a 'beacon' file in it, they can simply copy and paste the IP addresses of all of the connected peers.  I can to that with uTorrent, and I presume other packages have a similar ability.  All it would take is for them to have someone connected to the torrent.

The only multimedia file that I'm aware of that can contain an embedded URL is WMV (thanks, fucking Microsoft!) but unfortunately you can embed a URL into a WMV and then rename the extension, and the media players will happily launch it.  I block that at the software-firewall level by NEVER allowing my media players to go out on the Internet... EVER.  Big deal, so I can't download the song info.  I probably already have it.

that is 1 reason for including junk file before RARing or splitting all files

there are ways to make it almost if not totally impossible to be traced, but it's complex and does slow shit down, so to me it's not worth the effort.
The best defense is an unsecured wireless connection, even in Amerika they can't sue you for being dumb yet can they? :D
I got a couple of warnings from my ISP and told them that and also that I'm not subject to DMCA related laws, thats going to change though cos of the secret treaties being negotiated worldwide :(
