My home town..
« on: January 29, 2007, 08:26:13 PM »
In my time at both RC and RU I've had people comment a lot on where I come from, Melbourne which at the moment is where I call home.     :D

I thought I'd just post a couple of links to clips which show just a little of where I'm from, the world's 2nd most livable city behind Vancouver though we have been No. 1 before.  It's not a perfect city by any means,  but it's home.  ::):   It is full of wonderful people, a myriad of cultures, food in cafes and restaurants from all corners of the earth (excluding the south sadly) and just some of the best living one can have!

Perhaps some of you will be kind to show me yours?

I can't find any vids of interesting stuff from my town,or anything outside of bland census data.

However,I DID find a great clip of some sites in my home state of New Jersey...

ENJOY!

Great videos, AAA.   :D

I went and tracked down a couple for you of my city:

This one's a slideshow.  The music is a bit pretentious, so you may want to mute.

(note: the 5th "slide" is of a couple dorm buildings on campus of my college)

(note: the buildings at 1:12 and 3:48 are also from my college...lol)
(note also: the Big Mac bridge at 2:03, and our famous Skyline Chili that I've told you about at 2:06)
(note some more: at 3:19 is the fountain in our Fountain Square, downtown.  I really like this fountain)

And heh...anybody ever hear of WKRP?  ;)

LMAO!  TMG!!!

"As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!!"
from one of the funniest sitcom episodes EVER

WKRP was great!! It was show that, even as a kid, made me want to be in radio (I later modifed that goal to television)!!

I LOVED that show!!

Just an additional site which is our State Government site for promoting my town and my state.      You can see just how many things we have here all within a four hour driving radius.    Enjoy.    :D
