I have a SendSpace account in addition to RU and MU.

SendSpace is actually the BF's account.  It is the host used for a particular audio book sharing e-mail group.  But I get to use it too, and he uses my RS and MU accounts for downloading.

if you looking for a more secure file sharing site, use filezilla. I use that for uploading more then 20 megs of data between employees and clients.

I have used both RS & MU. No problems with either, but I do not have actual accounts.
TPB & Frostwire are my preferred source for pr0nz0rs, though.

I use Torrentz and filestube.com for the torrents I'm looking for and Rapidshare Premium for direct link downloading. Seems to be a good compromise as I'm a mac user and had trouble finding suitable software initially.

Does anyone have a spare rapidshare account they'd be willing to share with me for a few days? I need to download a few seasons of a TV show and I can't afford a premium account at the moment. I promise not to do anything bad to the account.
Thanks in advance.

Currently I share 2 rapidshit accounts - it will be 1 when I use all the points accumulated
1 shared at Hotfile
I also have access to Easyshare and uploaded.to accounts although I don't often upload to either except via remote uploads, which up.to doesn't have.

I highly recommend sharing accounts with trusted friends that upload as it makes it easy to keep them all free and download what you want, when you want it most of the time.

I'm not surprised.  The German government has been trying to get Rapidshare shut down for a while.  The main operation is now in Switzerland, but "rapidshare.de" is located in Germany.  The German laws about illegal downloads are very strict and they are the main reason why content disappears so quickly...

Not much of a loss, really.  In the last 18 months, I think I've pulled a total of 10 files from there, and 8 of them were from an old post by BBGirl (of horrorflix.ws fame).  The other two were techie ebooks <insert PROPELLER BEANIE smiley here!>.

Nobody has used RapidShit.de much since they went nuts deleting files a few years ago... we all moved over to RapidShare.com, and now we're looking for the Next Good Thing since RS.com has turned into the pits.

I really like HotFiles.  Very fast, but they are prohibited many places including RB, and I'm not sure why.  Perhaps tehy were once a pay-per-click service?  Anyone have history there?

I've HEARD that early on, they were blocking by country.  I haven't been able to find any evidence of that, nor has anyone complained that they can't download any of the Hotfiles links I've posted... ANYWHERE.

IF they were blocking by country, they don't appear to be doing it now.  Some forums take FOR FREAKING EVER to change their policies when needed.

I asked the same question at PornBB, and never got an answer.  They finally lifted their Hotfiles ban.
Here's their current ban list:
filesmonster-dot-com
uploading-dot-com
uploadbox-dot-com
letitbit-dot-com

linkbucks-dot-com and all affilates
usercash-dot-com
SPAMMER!!-dot-org  << this one is s h a r e c a s h, one of our very few banned words.
sharembit-dot-com

I'm glad to see 'em ban filesmonster and uploadbox... both of those SUCK.  I wish they'd do the same for some of the other crappy hosts like netload.in that the spammers flock to.  SOMEONE needs to tell the folks at PornBB that Usercash disappeared in August... they're STILL a bit slow dealing with reality over there.  ::)

Ahhh, I just found RB's forbidden list.  I'll post my short notes next to some of 'em.

 B i t r o a d                        never found a working download
E x c l u s i v e f a i l e.com   TERRIBLE!  One of the slowest servers on the net!
F i l e m o n s t e r
F i l e s m o n s t e r            links are always dead by the time I get to them
F r e a k s h a r e                Want lots of pop-ups?  this one is rife with 'em
G e t t h e b i t.com
g i g a p e t a.com              Never gotten a download that WORKED from there
h o t f i l e.com
l e t i t b i t.net                 Slow, but it's faster than Rapidshit some days
O r o n.com                       again, never gotten a download from there that actually worked
S m s 4 F i l e                   pay-only service or SMS if you're in Europe.. you're gonna give THESE idiots your SMS number???
S m s f i l e s.ru                 same here
T u r b o b i t                   another fine upstanding host that's apparently served from a PC... amazingly slow and bad
u p - f i l e.com                 crappy, popups and slow.  Who needs it?
U p l o a d i n g.com          dunno why the block this one, it works for me though it's frequently slow
v i p - f i l e.com               give it up... DL speed of 1Kbit, you'll never get a full file
s h a r e c a s h.org           this one is so bad it's one of our FORBIDDEN WORDS
s h a r i n g m a t r i x.com  utter crap, I've never gotten a download to work from them
z i d d u                           another crap host popular with spammers, I never got a file that finished

I think part of the confusion about hotfile could be due to them only counting downloads from certain countries towards their rewards program
Code: [Select]
Downloads are counted only if done from the following countries: United States, Canada, Norway, Finland, Sweden, United Kingdom, Germany, Latvia, Estonia, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, Denmark, Ireland, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Romania, Australia, Russia, Liechtenstein, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Turkey, Japan and Singapore.
It doesn't stop people from other countries downloading the links, it just means there won't be any reward for them.

Well I've tried partage-facile.com and it is hopeless.     Several people have reported that the archives they are downloading are corrupt - even though they should be OK - I had tested them first, prior to downloading and then later by downloading them and extracting the files.

The issues with Rapidshare seem to be much worse for users in the US.  I notice that the times when files for free users are unavailable seem to coincide with peak internet usage times in the US.

Well i started a week ago @ hotfile as an alternative filehost to rapid, easyshare or even uploaded.to . It's fast about [400kbt/s in Europe] and i see more and more users using it. It is forbidden at some forums but getting so many files reported or even deleted due the rapidshare new rule 60days inactivity i rather perfer have less dls, protect my rapishare links at smaller forums where they stand long and sacrify the other links to get the points to continue premium.
It's all options and i may be wrong but with the recent rapid changes i've only lost a few gbs due inactivity.
Times are not easy to uploaders so lets see what the next months say...

Has anyone experienced security problems with these services? Have you become infected with spyware and malware?
Please no skanky comments about lack of protection, bareback web surfing, etc.  :emot_laughing.gif:

There's a couple of bad ones, but I think I've already warned about them...

One of 'em tried to do a 'drive-by' download, and another wanted my e-mail address before it'd continue, and it wouldn't take Mailinator (http://www.mailinator.com/).  ;)

VIP-Files is still banned... I tried a download from there yesterday, and it still says "premium account required to download".  Fuck 'em!  We don't need any stinkin' bottom-end Russki file sharing services.

I haven't seen or heard of any problems with the larger hosting sites in some time, not even seen a rapidphishing link in months

Huh.  I haven't been back to Rape Board in a long time, and I see they have a new PREMIUM VIDEOS section that only allows links from the top 4 or 5 file sharing services.

That's not a bad idea, as the 50 or so cheezy hosts are purely fucking annoying.  There's always a scramble among them to throw MORE stinkin' ads at you.  Anyone using an off-brand host is simply trying to lure YOU into getting clicks for THEM.  Screw 'em.  Go to Real Rap Talk if you want to post worthless links to click-for-cash schemes.

Freakshare, Sharingmatrix and Uploading.com are actually pretty good IMO. Uploaded.to started to give out wonderful speed for free users in Europe.

I am seeing ORON used more and more on many porn sites.

Oron has got 1 of the highest rewards schemes for uploaders (not my reason for using it though) and I think it even pays out to non-premium members so it will be attractive to the spambots and those that only do it for money, so expect to see it used a lot more

The biggest problem with it is that even as a premium member you are still limited to 15gb over 3 days and as a free user it's 5gb over 3 days. Once that limit is reached it tell you to buy another account to keep DLing

Maybe I'm just upset cos I'm trying to remote some of my stuff elsewhere so I've got back-ups and I'm stuck @ 69 files copied so far and I've got a few hundred more to do. :(

One to definitely add to the "Do NOT USE" list is Usershare.

They have deleted ALL files from a number of accounts both premium and free users with no explanation or even a form-letter acknowledging receipt of emails.
Since I was sharing a premium account I feel ripped off, not the loss of the porn, it was only about 200gb and all remotely uploaded anyway, but they just took the money and ran.

My current list of upload sites:

Megaupload - still the best and fastest but not popular for porn because they don't pay rewards so the bots won't use it
Oron - reliable but still has some download limits for both free and premium
Filesonic - More download limits than Oron but probably the best option for porn these days
Easy-share - I haven't tried DLing as a free user but good for uploaders as it is the best for remoting to other sites

I believe, megaupload is the best option as once you upload, you can watch the videos online without having to download them. Moreover, megaupload allows files in size 1gigs at a time. Not bad.

Filesonic is not bad if you have premium account. Which I do.

I'm not familiar with the inner workings of file sharing services but why aren't more files put on Megaupload in general? This is including things like music, porn, etc. It seems to have the best service (at least non-membership wise) of all.

The file sharing services are being cracked down on right now.  Megaupload is no more.

Lois I wanted to ask if it is possible for RU to do something to get all of us on the same file sharing service so we don't have to pay for 6 or 7 to download the wonderful material available within this great site. I am sure this has been brought up several times before but it seems to me that if everyone used the same server we could all benefit. Not sure which one but maybe you or one of the gang could recommend one server.
Title: Re: File sharing services

That's a good idea but with all the file sharing services in flux right now it would be hard to recommend one.

I mainly use Utorrent and ISOhunt as my downloading and Audiophile gratification. I did use TPB until it got shut down. For P2P stuff I want to transfer between friends I've used CoffeeCup in the past.

I did use TPB until it got shut down.

Just as an FYI, TPB is still up.  they're based out of... somewhere... and the files are still available.  Granted for adult stuff you do have to know EXACTLY what you're looking for to access the specific subsections, but with a little effort you can get files.

And, I tend to use BitTorrent and OCCASIONALLY RapidShare.  But I agree with Lois, the whole file sharing flux right now makes it hard to recommend one.

Mediafire and Uploaded are easily the best. There's mega, which is really practical (50 GB os space, etc.), but until the whole Dotcom thing is resolved, it's better to have backups.

Best way to protect your files is to both put them in zip/rar and add a password.

maybe since the file sharing is in flux we should just share inhouse torrents you can use utorrent or bittorrent to create torrents and email the torrent file to people who comment on the threads under a torrent subsection maybe

I mostly torrent my stuff right now, as for sites I use pornleech.com (for porn...yeah, duh) and KAT.cr and thepiratebay (for everything, including porn)
