This game is really word or phrase association where there is a quoted historical connection, however loose, between the two, e.g. Original word = Wars of the Roses
Connection = Richard the Lionheart, both were English Kings

Original word = George Washington
Connection = Washington near Sunderland, same name

Original word = Lord Clive
Connection = Lord Mountbatten, both Lords, or both Governors/Viceroys of India
