She played lawyer who was almost raped in a movie that I saw on Lifetime or another cable channel. The scene made me hard.

See, I read it as what really screwed up her life was that she thought getting raped was God's punishment for being Gay. The Rape didn't help, obviously, but the idea that a kind and loving God would arrange for you to get 'surprise sex' to punish you for the way he made you strikes me as being even more fucked up.
